Professor Tsair-Fuh Lin has joined the Department of Environmental Engineering (DEnvE) at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan (NCKU) since 1995. His research interests include identification and treatment of cyanobacterial metabolites in drinking water, adsorption and novel treatment techniques for contaminated ground water, and sustainable development. He has published more than 120 refereed papers/book chapters, and co-authored and co-edited three books, and has owned 14 patents and 15 technology transfers.
Dr. Lin has received many outstanding teaching and research awards, including a Fellow of International Water Association (2012 and 2018), an International Honorary Member of American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (2015), Outstanding Research Award (2017 and 2020) from Taiwan Ministry of Science and Technology, National Excellent Teacher Award (2022) from Taiwan Ministry of Education.
Dr. Lin has been actively involved in several national and international professional societies. He is a former Chair (2009-2011) and the current Vice Chair and Secretary (2012-) of the Specialist Group in Tastes, Odours and Algal Toxins in Water Resources and Aquacultures, IWA (International Water Association), the Secretary (2009-15) and Chair (2016-17) of the Specialist Group in Lake and Reservoir Management, IWA, and a former Secretary General (2009-2010) and President (2023 of the Chinese Institute of Environmental Engineering (CIEnvE) (with ~1,800 members) in Taiwan. He has served as editor of several international journals, Water Supply, Sustainable Environment Research, and Chemosphere.
